Six-year-old abducted by man ‘looking for his cat’

(The Star. 09.01.2008)

KUALA LUMPUR: A six-year-old girl was abducted by a man who used the same modus operandi as the Kampung Baru molester.

The abductor wore a black jacket, rode a black motorcycle and convinced his young victim to follow him on the pretext of looking for his missing cat.

The girl was, however, not sexually assaulted unlike a previous victim who was battered to the extent of having a brinjal forced into her private parts.

The six-year-old was in shock when found wandering at Wangsa Maju some two hours after she was abducted at 5pm on Monday.

The man had first approached the girl and convinced her to follow him by telling her that he would take her to see some cats and birds.

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Mazlan Mansor said that the girl was playing alone near her flats in Kampung Sepakat, in Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya, when approached by the man.
A passer-by who found the girl brought her to the Wangsa Maju police station before she was referred to Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

A medical examination showed that she was not sexually assaulted.

The victim’s mother, a cleaner, was shocked to find her daughter missing after she returned home from work.

She lodged a report at the Petaling Jaya police station at 1am yesterday.

In the first abduction on June 27, a six-year-old girl was persuaded by a stranger to follow him to catch cats. He later allegedly shoved a brinjal into her private parts.

On July 2, five-year-old Suci Rahmadhani was taken by a motorcyclist at 3.30pm while playing in front of her father’s grocery store in Jalan Raja Bot. She was found by a passer-by 14 hours later in Kampung Baru, covered in bruises and with blood on her legs.
